The Abudu royal family is asking a Kumasi High Court to call the Andani royal family to order.
The Abudus accuse their rival gate of breaching the road map to peace sanctioned by the Committee of Eminent Chiefs in 2006.
The Abudus argue the Andani’s have totally disregarded the agreement both parties signed for peace to prevail in Yendi.
The legal suit joins the Attorney General and the Ministry of the Interior.
According to the Abudus, all three parties jointly sued have been engaging in acts that undermine the road map to peace.
Obori Boahene, lawyer for the Abudu family says his clients have identified a litany of agreements that the Andani’s have disregarded.
They include the limitation of the powers of the regent to appoint any chief or sell lands or resources belonging to Dagbon without consultation but according to them the regent has enskinned several chiefs.
However, Andani family press secretary, Mahama Andani, has dismissed the lawsuit, contending that the Andani’s never approved of all aspects of the road map.
The Abudus in their writ pledge to provide documents to support their claims.
The Andani’s also said they left a footnote expressing their discontent with certain aspects of the road map.
