Actor Kojo Dadson of 'Home Sweet Home' fame says he sometimes weep for the uncertain future of veteran actors in Ghana.

The actor who few years ago suffered a mild stroke while on a movie set says what he went through during his sickness has convinced him that the welfare of matured actors is not on the priority list of the Ghana Actors Guild.

According to him the Guild has no welfare plans for the elderly in the movie industry.

The actor revealed that although he is one of the pioneers of the Ghana Actors Guild, he looks back on the founding principles of the Guild with much regret.

He said the good intentions the Guild had, such as securing a welfare plan for its members, is not being pursued currently.

"It certainly doesn't make me happy. In my personal case, I am not frightened as such because I work for my father's company. I have my social security so I feel for those who maybe do not have anything to depend on when they get old. The acting industry does not have anything for them to rely on" Kojo lamented in a conversation on Hitz FM's Showbiz This Week with MzGee.

 He revealed that the Actors Guild never came to his aid financially when he was going through his ordeal.

He said made through his sickness by the benevolence of his close friends both within and outside the acting industry.

"The Guild Back then did not do anything financially for me. i only had my colleague elderly actors come visit me in the house. A big thumbs up to Fred Amugi who calls me constantly to checks up on me but apart from that, it is more or less each man for himself,” he said.

He said he has since ceased to be an active member of the Guild.

Kojo Dadson known for his comic roles on television says he has bounced back actively on the silver screen after he took a break due to his minor stroke.

"It is saddening to know that we set the pace but the younger ones who come in seem to be taking all the glory, but we have no regrets for setting the pace,” he said.
