The Attorney General, Betty Mould Iddrisu, will from Saturday May 1, 2010 begin an official visit to the United States of America that will take her to Washington and New York. While in Washington, the Attorney General will meet the Attorney General of the United States of America Mr. Eric Holder. The main agenda for this meeting will be the bilateral cooperation Ghana enjoys with the United States in the field of rule of law and United States government's commitment to Africa, particularly its efforts to promote the rule of law and to combat transnational crime, especially in areas such as terrorism and terrorist financing, piracy, narcotics and corruption. In New York, the Attorney General will be addressing a gathering of business people and the media on the investment climate in Ghana and the rule of law at the New York University, meet the Under-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs/The Legal Counsel of the United Nations, Patricia O'Brien and the Director of the UNDP Democratic Governance Group, Ms. Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi. The Attorney General will also hold discussions with the Clinical Faculty of the Fordham Law School on their curriculum and possible introduction of reforms in legal education in Ghana, visit the US Congress and address the American Society of International Law.
