Ghana’s IBF Bantam weight contender Joseph Agbeko has arrived in California ahead of his rematch with Abner Mares on December 3.
Agbeko in the company of his head trainer Adama Addy and assistant Bismark Bruce together with Attorney, Joe Duva and the Public Relations Officer of the Don King Promotions, Allan Hooper arrived in California, Monday, from their New York base, Ebenezer Noye, Public Relations Officer for Agbeko confirmed to Myjoyonline.com.
The two, face-off for the second time this year after the first was controversially awarded in favour of the Mexican.
Mares was caught many times on camera with a low blow, and an obvious one in round 11 which ought not to have escaped the watchful eyes of referee Russell Mora. But it did.
Mora incidentally awarded two controversial knock downs against Agbeko.
Pundits mocked at the referee’s decisions on the night and scoffed at the eventual majority verdict by the judges who scored the bout 115-111, 115-111 and 113-113 in favour of Mares.
The IBF ordered an immediate rematch which was scheduled on December 3.
The two have since been preparing eagerly for the bout.
Joseph Agbeko had been putting finishing touches to his preparations at his New York base but moved to California, venue for the bout on Monday.
Ebenezer Noye said Agbeko is in high spirit ahead of the rematch.
The two boxers are expected to meet on Thursday for a press conference before their official weighing ceremony on Friday.
The bout will be on, on Saturday.
