New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, has on behalf of the party extended goodwill wishes to the Black Stars of Ghana, “as they get ready to win their 5th African Cup of Nations title.”
A statement issued by the party Thursday quoted him as saying “I believe strongly that with sheer determination and hard work from our players, the technical team and management, and the unflinching support of all of us, the Black Stars will end the trophy drought that has left Ghana unable to win the African Cup of Nations since we last won it thirty years ago.”
It reminded the team of the sterling performance of the gallant Black Stars in the FIFA World Cup on two consecutive occasions, in 2006 and 2010, which the statement siad has caught the attention of the world and therefore they will be watching the Stars.
“I wish the Black Stars the very best of luck and urge them to make us proud one more time. Go for Gold!!!”
