Vice Presidential nominee, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur is optimistic he will sail through his parliamentary vetting Monday. Mr Amissah-Arthur is set to be quizzed publicly by members of Parliament’s Appointments Committee. But even before he assumes the position of vice president, the aura around the outgoing Governor of the Bank of Ghana has changed considerably as Joynews’ George Wiafe found out when he caught up with him at the Calvary Methodist Church at Adabraka where he worshipped Sunday. According to George, the security detail of the in-coming vice president has changed. As BoG Governor, he had one police man as bodyguard but that is not the case now a few days after his nomination as vice president. “I noticed two body guards were sitting directly behind him in church while others stood outside the church,” George Wiafe said. He added that most members of Mr Amissah-Arthur’s congregation were eager to exchange pleasantries with him even though he has worshipped with them for years. Officials of the church, according to the reporter, observed that it was hounorable to have one of them nominated to the high office of vice president. Superintendent minister, the Very Rev Dr. Kwesi Arthur-Mensah, could also not hide his joy when he called for special prayers for vice-president nominee, Wiafe noted. He said the former BoG Governor was optimistic he could convince Parliament’s appointment committee because he is the right man for the job.
