Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah says he will fly out to Milan to hold talks with retired Kevin-Prince Boateng over his international future.
The AC Milan ace quit the Black Stars last November by explaining that physical demands of playing for both club and country at a high level are taking a toll on his health.
It was rumoured that the 24-year-old had clashed with former Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic.
Boateng's decision to step down from the national team came as shock after the Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi held talks with the player.
Appiah hopes he can persuade the mercurial midfielder to rescind his decision.
"It is been difficult talking to Boateng directly but I have succeeded in making some significant contacts," Appiah told the Africa Sports Newspaper.
''I intend flying out to Milan pretty shortly to talk to him and to assure him of his importance to the team
Boateng, a former Germany youth international, was cleared by FIFA in the summer of 2010 and played at the World Cup finals the same year where he shone.
