Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso Boakye has unveiled a new party office to aid the daily administrative and political duties of the executives and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency.
The newly commissioned office has since been described as a “symbol of unity, grassroots empowerment, and dedication to effective party organization”, emphasising the constituency’s attribute as a powerhouse of the NPP in the Ashanti region.
The commissioning ceremony assembled party stalwarts including former presidents Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and John Agyekum Kufuor, supporters and constituency executives.
The facility has been described as one of the most modern constituency offices built by the party in recent years, providing space for administrative work, meetings, and party mobilisation activities.
Addressing the gathering, ex-president Kufuor, commended the Bantama constituency for its effort in putting up the building.
“Though we have a party headquarters, I must admit that this building is actually finer than the headquarters,” he noted.
Former President Akufo-Addo also lauded the achievement, describing the office as a symbol of the NPP’s enduring strength in the Ashanti Region.
He urged party members to remain united and committed, emphasising that the NPP’s record in government would be the foundation for reclaiming power in 2028.
“Bantama has always been a strong pillar of our party, and this new office will only deepen that role,” Nana Akufo-Addo said.
Bantama, widely regarded as one of the safest NPP seats in Ghana, has consistently delivered some of the highest voter turnouts and margins for the party in national elections.
Party leaders believe the new office will enhance coordination and serve as a hub for political activity in the area.
Bantama MP, Francis Asenso Boakye, says the new office is an expression of his utmost gratitude to the constituents and party delegates for voting him into the assumption of office as a legislator for the constituency.
He revealed Bantama was the only constituency in the country to have seen the NPP win in all the polling stations for the 2024 elections.
“The NPP won in every single polling station in the constituency in the last elections. This office is in appreciation of the enormous support shown me in the competitive parliamentary primaries over the last 8 years,” he said.
