No one can begrudge children of school going age at Nnuaso in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region for staying out of school.
This is because local authorities have failed to address an infrastructure deficit of the only local primary school in the community.

Over 200 of school children at the local Anglican Primary School are packed into dilapidated structures which have walls made out of aluminum roofing sheets – causing severe heat and exposing them to injuries.

The situation is driving several of them who cannot stand the excessive heat from the classrooms out of school.
Authorities in that school say at least two pupils are injured in a week as they play around the aluminum sheet walls of the school.
Local authorities have since three years ago failed to provide a decent classroom block for the pupils after a severe rainstorm ripped off the roof of the permanent block.
School kids are taught concurrently with two teachers delivering lessons at the same time in one room that houses both class two and three pupils, raising concerns over the ability of the children to concentrate pick up what they are being thought.
For Class One pupils, their lot is an uncompleted school bungalow.

School authorities say the situation impedes smooth academic work amid fears the children are not getting quality education.
Head teacher of school, Mark Osei Duah, says the situation in the school is not conducive for learning.
“This should not be a classroom that a child should learn in this modern day but we have no choice”, he said.
According to Mr. Duah it has become common for the children to get injured while they play around the sharp-edge roofing-sheet that walls the classroom.
“You know how children play; they get in touch with the structure and always get injured. We have to take care of them then keep mending the structures”. Mr Duah revealed.
Though District Education Director for Bonsomtwe, Ernestina Konadu Yiadom, is hopeful the district assembly fulfills a promise to construct a six-unit classroom block, it is not clear when this dream will become a reality.
District Chief Executive, Veronica Antwi Adjei, says the assembly can only assist when it receives its share of the Common Fund.
