Berekum Chelsea midfielder Gladson Awako believes winning this year’s fa cup trophy would go a long way in consoling his side’s supporters since the seasons league trophy eluded them.
The 2010/2011 Ghanaian league winners set up an intriguing semi-final clash in the MTN FA Cup against AshantiGold after edging past 10-man second tier side, Amidaus Professionals on Sunday at the golden city park by a lone goal.
In an interview with asempa sports after the match "I together with my team mates are poised to console management and supporters of our club with the ultimate.Every one was dissatisfied with our position at the end of the league season so we have made up our minds to go all out for the FA cup trophy to console our fans and management”. he told Asempa Sports
Awako is a core member of Berekum Chelsea’s champions league campaign. The midfielder was a member of the Ghana U-20 squad that won the 2009 FIFA Youth Championship World Cup in Egypt.
