Director of the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre, Dr Opoku Ware Ampomah, told Joy News he passed away last night.
The eight were among 11 patients transferred there over the weekend.
Three people died on the spot and over 26 people suffered various degrees of injuries during the incident last Friday.

Reports say fishermen in the Axim area are devastated by the incident and cannot go to sea.
Local Chief fisherman, Nana Kofi Annan who is leading a delegation to pay condolences to the affected families said they will liaise with the local assembly to assist affected families.
