Northern Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Awudu Sofo Azorka has appealed to party faithful to unite for victory in the December polls. Some aspirants who lost the recently held primaries are threatening to go independent. But Sofo Azorka is asking them to put all animosity and bickering behind them and forge ahead in unity. “If the executive works hard, the parliamentary candidates [will] not have problem[s]. So please I’m begging you people.” He was addressing a strategic party meeting attended by DCEs, party executives and parliamentary candidates. He urged aggrieved candidates who lost the parliamentary primaries to meet with those they believe caused their defeat and settle their differences. He further encouraged members to take advantage of the internal human resource available to resolve their differences ahead of the general elections.
