Mr Kwamena Bartels, former Minister of Information and National Orientation on Tuesday assumed office as Minister of the Interior, a statement in Accra said on Wednesday.
Mr. Albert Kan-Dapaah, former Sector Minister and current Minister of Defence, who handed over to Mr Bartels commended the staff for their support during his tenure and urged them to extend the same support to his colleague.
He said he was happy to hand over to Mr Bartels and pledged the Defence Ministry's readiness to collaborate with his office for the good of the country.
Mr. Kan-Dapaah also commended his deputy, Mr Kwaku Agyeman -Manu for his loyalty and dedication to work and entreated him to also extend similar commitment to the new Minister.
Mr. Bartels on his part, called for loyalty, dedication and hard work from the staff, saying, "there is a lot of work for all of us and lets get started".
