BIDEC INC, under the auspices of the Directorate of the Diaspora Affairs, Office of the President, in partnership with key institutions in Ghana and across the African diaspora, has announced the Ghana Convention 2025, a landmark event to be held on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
This high-level gathering will position Ghana as a strategic hub for investment, 24-hour economy, trade, and cultural diplomacy at a time when global trade wars, AfCFTA integration, and shifting economic alliances demand fresh, Africa-led solutions.
The Ghana Convention 2025 is expected to bring together a distinguished array of leaders, the Presidency, senior ministers of government, heads of agencies, and prominent CEOs from Ghana and international corporations, alongside global investors, academics, diaspora entrepreneurs, cultural icons, and civic society leaders.
Invited or potential speakers include the President of Ghana, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Youth Development & Empowerment, other ministers, the CEO of the National Petroleum Authority, the Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, and the CEO of Niche Cocoa Company Limited.
Some of the confirmed speakers include the Kofi Okyere Darko, Director, Diaspora Affairs, Samuel Gyamfi Esq., CEO, Ghana Gold Board, Dr. Dadicus Jules, Director General of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), Dr. Olivier Kamanzi, the President, Africa Global Chamber Of Commerce, Mr. Ebenezer Ahiator, Esq, Executive Director of the Bureau for Ghana Languages, Wakefield Ackuako, Executive Director of the National Commission on Culture, Solomon Adjei, the CEO of the Association of Ghana Startups, and leading voices from the African Diaspora in the United States. The Convention will showcase Ghana’s forward-looking policies on trade, investment, energy, and cultural diplomacy, while celebrating its global presence and highlighting the Ghana’s sterling flagship policies and opportunities.
In a moment where Africa’s voice is increasingly sought on issues of sustainability, technology, and creative industries, the Ghana Convention offers a space for the diaspora and global partners to connect meaningfully with Ghana’s national vision.
Key partners and collaborators under discussion include the Africa Global Chamber of Commerce, Global Impact Industries USA, Diaspora District USA, Destination Ghana Network USA, Transatlantic Global, Jupe Global, 360 Group Limited, and other organizations in Africa and the Caribbean.
The Convention is designed to deliver concrete outcomes of mobilizing diaspora and international capital into Ghana’s priority sectors; dialogue between government, civil society, and investors to align diaspora opportunities with Ghana’s development agenda, showcasing Ghana’s creative industries and tourism potential as soft power tools for global influence; establishing new pathways for skills transfer, entrepreneurship, and civic participation from the diaspora community.
Speaking ahead of the event, Stephen Selasie Asuo, President of BIDEC INC and Convener of the Ghana Convention, noted: “This is Ghana’s moment to stand tall at the global stage—not just to showcase policies, but to actively connect with its people, diaspora, and partners especially at the UN General Assembly in New York City. The Ghana Convention is about building bridges of trust, trade, and transformation at a time when the world needs Africa’s leadership.”
The Ghana Convention 2025 promises to be a defining platform for Ghana’s global image, connecting policy with people, and ideas with investments.
