The Electoral Commission has told Joy News it will not be using the biometric voters’ register for next month’s by-election at Wulensi.
The commission announced yesterday, the election to elect a representative to succeed the late Member of Parliament for the Consttuency, Alhaji Saani Iddi, will be held on the 31 July.
It said nominations will open in the first week of July.
There have been speculations the Wulensi by-election would make a good pilot for the new register, but Principal Public Relations Officer at the EC, Sylvia Annor, told Joy News the register won’t be ready by then.
Meanwhile the NDC is upbeat about securing the independent seat.
Deputy General Secretary, George Lawson says President Mills has done enough to win the hearts of people in the constituency.
