The British Boarding School Expo, an educational exhibition of British boarding schools, will open in Accra from Wednesday to Saturday at the African Regent Hotel.
The event is targeted at parents and guardians in Ghana, who are interested in educating their children and wards aged between 5-18 years in the United Kingdom (U.K).
Highly qualified representatives from several reputable U.K boarding schools will be present at the Expo, to help parents and guardians, to make an informed decision.
Addressing the media, the Chief Executive Officer of Everything Education, the Event Organisers of the Expo, Elaine Cunningham-Walker, indicated that over the past century, the UK has been the “go to” country for education.
She said the Expo has provided the much-needed scholarships and bursaries to brilliant but needy students from Ghana and other parts of Africa.
According to her, regardless of the opportunities, navigating the UK system and finding the “best fit” for students, has been far from easy. The British Boarding School Expo she said has been primarily developed to bridge this gap.
The four-day event will begin with a Launch and Networking session on Wednesday. This will be followed by the exhibition of the various schools on Thursday and Friday.
Scholarship opportunities will be available to deserving students.
Speakers lined up for the event include Robin Fletcher, CEO of Boarding School Association; Kathy Campbell, Director of PAIR Education Ltd; Daniel Wellings, Development Director of The Future Group, and Julia Harrington, Headteacher of Queen Anne’s School. The event is open to the general public and is free to attend.
