The owner of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been briefed about current happenings in the club. This task was undertaken by Kotoko’s Executive CEO, Dr. K.K. Sarpong during a meeting on Monday with the Asantehene.
The meeting was held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, the official seat of the Ashanti King. Dr. Sarpong reportedly informed Otumfuo about the current state of Kotoko with regard to the performance of the team and player welfare.
He also told the Asantehene about measures being taken by his administration to restore Kotoko to its past glory. In this regard, Dr. Sarpong hinted Otumfuo about the new breed of players that he had purchased to strengthen the team in the second round.
A Kotoko source who divulged the information to DAILY GUIDE SPORTS said Otumfuo in his response expressed worry about Kotoko’s lackadaisical performance lately. The Kotoko owner therefore admonished the playing body and the technical bench of the team to buck up in the second round.
