The Confederation of African Football, CAF have appointed Libyan officials to handle the Confederation Cup second leg match between the Ghanaian club and Mali’s Djoliba A.C in Accra on 3rd May, 2015.
Referee Mohammed Ragab Omar will be at the centre with Compatriots Foaad Mohamed El Maghrabi and Attia Amsaad supporting him on the lines. The reserve referee, also from Libya, is Abdallah Baesus Ashraf.
The Match Commissioner, Dominic Obukadata Oneya, is however from Nigeria. The Commissioner, a former militaryofficer, is a native of Warri. The officials are expected in Ghana by Friday, May 1st, 2015.
Hearts of Oak lead the tie 2-1 from the first leg played in Bamako last Friday. Gilbert Fiamenyo and Paul Acquah netted for Hearts with Mamoudou Traore reducing the deficit in a 12-minute second-half explosion.
The winner of the tie will engage in a play-off with one of the clubs that will fail at the 1/16th stage last hurdle of the CAF Champions League.
Meanwhile in the Ghana Premier League, Accra Hearts of Oak earned a massive point by clawing a goal deficit to draw 1-1 with Obuasi Ashantigold at the Len Clay Sports Stadium on Wednesday. Youngster Sarbah Laryea garnered Hearts the point late in the game with a
super strike from the edge of the box with barely three minutes remaining of regulation time.
In fact, it was a goal dug from the deepest of mines, as Hearts looked doomed to be leaving Len Clay without a point. Ashgold’s Didier Kore had opened the scoring with an excellent finish in the box in the 28th minute of action.
