The Accra Circuit Court hearing the case of the Turkey gold scandal has released the passport of Peter Kofi Bcdzra, one of the accused persons in the case, to enable him go for a medical check-up in Nigeria.
This was after Mr Musa Ahmed, counsel for the accused person, told the court that his client had to go to Nigeria for a medical check-up, and pleaded for the court to release his client's passport.
Joseph Kwame Donkor, counsel for the businessman, who was also put before the court for allegedly playing a role in the illegal shipment of 1.5 tonnes of gold worth $52 million to Turkey, also pleaded with the court to order for his client’s vehicle to be released.
He said the vehicle had been in the possession of the BN1 since his client was arrested, but the court declined and asked the counsel to request by a formal application.
The court, which was presided over y by Mrs Patience Mills-Tetteh, adjourned the case to May 6.
