A circuit court in Kumasi has remanded Osei Kofi, a caterer, who allegedly assaulted his 64-year-old mother, Yaa Ampong and threatened her with death.
Osei pleaded not guilty to the charges and will re-appear on February 16.
Police Chief Inspector Francis Kusi told the court presided over by Richard Mac Kugyapwah that Osei and the mother lived in the same house at Asuofua near Kumasi.
Chief Insp. Kusi said the complainant warned her son on several occasions to stop bringing friends with questionable characters to the house, especially at odd times since it could lead to thefts.
The Prosecutor said Osei cautioned the mother against her behaviour and quarrelled with her on several occasions.
Chief Insp. Kusi said on January 31, this year, Osei became furious and held the mother’s neck against a pillar in the house and warned her not to interfere in his affairs else he will kill her.
