The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu has called on all Muslims to abide by the teachings of the Holy Quran and keep their communities clean at all times.
In a speech read on his behalf by his spokesperson, Sheikh Aremeyaro Shaibu during a familiarization visit to the head office of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, the Chief Imam noted that the Holy Quran is fashionable about waste management and sanitation in general hence the need for all Muslims to adhere and practice proper sanitation.
The speech acknowledged Zoomlion Ghana as a household name in the waste and sanitation industry in Ghana and beyond and therefore deemed it fit to detailed a team led by the Chairman of the National Chief Imam’s Advisory board, Sheik ShaibuAbubakar to pay a visit to the company.
The speech noted that in 2009, the Zoomlion Group of companies developed an innovative support to provide better accommodation and other facilities to the Hajj pilgrimage explaining that this intervention by Zoomlion Group of Companies averted the situation where pilgrims slept in the open and took their baths at the airport in their quest to visit the Holy Land Mecca.
He expressed gratitude to management and entire staff of Zoomlion for such timely intervention.
The national chief imam was also pleased with Zoomlion’s efforts at bridging the unemployment gap in the country especially among the zongo youth.
The director of Administration at Zoomlion Ghana Emmanuel Okomeng who read a speech on behalf of the Executive Chairman said the company has designed a special programme to interact with Muslims nationwide on environmental sanitation issues after their Friday prayers in regional mosques.
To this end, he explained that officers of Zoomlion have toured all 12 regional mosques in Ghana, preaching the good news on environmental sanitation to better the lot of the Muslim communities.
He stated that Zoomlion and the Jospong group of companies are rapidly developing new ideas and always looking for new methods to aid in catering for the sanitation demands and needs of the nation.
“We are progressing with our clean green and healthy environmental agenda and we look forward to furthering this relationship towards bridging more gaps, educating more people from diverse communities and backgrounds on good sanitary habits,” Mr. Okomeng indicated.
The team from the National Chief Imam’s office was taken on a tour round the ultra modern waste management institute built by Zoomlion to serve the needs of West Africa.
The chairman of the Chief Imam’s advisory board, Sheik ShaibuA bubakar said special prayers for the company and the nation at large.
