Students of Ejisuman Senior High School in the Ashanti Region now have a modern facility to enhance Information and Communication Technology education.
It follows refurbishment of the Ghana-China Association ICT Center and subsequent supply of 50 brand new computers by the Chinese government.
The Chinese government spent 400, 000 Ghana cedis on the initiative which is meant to leverage Information and Communications Technology education at Ejisuman SHS.
Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Sun Boahong, and Ghana’s Trades Minister, Alan Kyerematen, have inaugurated the renovated centre.
Madam Boahong says the Chinese Embassy has built 11 ICT centres for students in eight regions of Ghana.
They are named China-Ghana ICT Centers to promote deep ties between the two countries. She advised Ghanaians to patronize locally manufactured goods to boost the economy.
Madam Boahong says Ghana will feature prominently in China’s first import expo in November, next year.
Minister of Trades, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen encouraged students to take advantage of the ICT center to broaden their scope of knowledge and skill.
Headmistress of Ejisuman SHS, Grace Amo Adjei, also advised students to desist from cyber crime and other forms of ICT abuse.
Meanwhile, two communities in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality have received agricultural input support worth 70 thousand Ghana cedis from the Chinese Embassy.
Farmers at Bepoase and Domeabra will also share 500 knapsack spraying machines, 1,540 bags of fertilizer, 480 pieces of machetes and 480 pairs of Wellington boots.
Trades Minister, Alan Kyeremateng, accompanied Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Sun Boahong, to present the items.
He said government is poised to bringing development to the people through its flagship “One District, One Factory’ programme.
Mr. Kyeremateng indicated Ejisuhene, Nana Afrane Okese IV, has released land for such projects to make the area an industrial hub in Ghana.
