Stranded workers at the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) will soon move into the premises  vacated by the Economic and Organised Crime Office  (EOCO) at the Old Parliament House Building after their offices were gutted by fire.

This was announced by the Public Relations Officer of CHRAJ, Comfort Akosua Edu at a staff durbar organised by management, Monday morning.

JoyNews' Joseph Opoku Gakpo visited the headquarters of CHRAJ and reported work is yet to resume fully, more than two weeks after fire gutted its offices at the Old Parliament House in Accra.

Though the staff reported to work today after a-two-week break, some of them had no offices to work from. A power outage in the entire building further worsened their plight.

One of the managers walked in and asked the idling workers to move into the conference room to find some work to do, Opoku reported.

But even those who had offices could not work because there were no lights to power the computers. The doors were left ajar to provide fresh air and to ameliorate the effect of the heat generated by the lack of electricity to power the air conditions.

Meanwhile, the PRO noted that the Electricity Corporation of Ghana (ECG) is working to get power back into the building to be able to operate effectively, adding that the commission is still working.

Government has also told CHRAJ it would soon make available to them new computers and other stationery to undertake their activities. Until then, productivity may suffer.
