The School of Technology of the Christ Apostolic University College (CAUC) in Kumasi, from the next academic year, will introduce additional courses as part of strategies to position it as the preferred choice for students. These would include Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics, Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science and Cyber Security. The University is also liaising with the National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations to run Higher National Diploma programmes in Accounting, Computing and Cyber Security. Professor Clement Somuah, the President of the University, who announced this at the Fifth Graduation ceremony of the University College, said the courses would be run in affiliation with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. A total of 395 students who studied various courses were presented with Bachelor’s Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates. The ceremony coincided with the matriculation of some 461 students to pursue various degree, diploma and certificate courses.       The Business School is also planning to introduce diploma programmes in Business Administration. Prof. Somuah said the University College was constantly reviewing and restructuring its academic programmes to make them more relevant to the socio-economic development of Ghana. He said the CAUC had prepared a strategic plan “AGENDA 2022”, aimed at repositioning it to be financially independent, whilst also offering excellent programmes and courses to make it a choice of applicants. The President said the expansion of the University's courses greatly depended on its infrastructure development and appealed to the Executive Council the Christ Apostolic Church International to assist in the completion of new buildings under construction to make room for new programmes. That would not only increase the intake of students but help in meeting the National Accreditation Board’s requirement in terms of teaching space, he said.
