The Christian Council of Ghana [CCG] has stated it never asked Nana Addo to retract and apologise for his now famous "all die be die" comment. The General Secretary of the CCG Rev. Fred Degbe on Wednesday, whiles receiving a petition to call Nana Addo to order from a policy advocacy group, Movement for a Better Ghana, is reported to have said it will be politically responsible for the Presidential candidate of the NPP Nana Akufo Addo to realize his mistakes and apologize. But the General Secretary of the CCG who paid a visit to the offices of Asempa FM said his comments might have been taken out of context. Rev. Degbe said what he meant was to call the attention of all leaders on the language that is used in our political discourse. “Our attention has been drawn to a statement that was supposed to have been made by the Christian Council of Ghana asking Nana Addo to apologize for his "all die be die" statement. "I want to say emphatically that the council has not called on Nana Addo to apologize for that statement. "We were receiving a delegation that brought a petition which we had not even read, and their complaint was that this language and other types of language were not helpful so we affirmed that language can be destructive so we call on all our leaders to be circumspect about the kind of thing they say in public”.
