The Begoro District Pastor of the Church of Pentecost, Pastor Robert Odame, has said the church would not compromise on its dress code for women and allow them to wear dresses that exposes their breasts and other private parts.
He explained that the argument that God does not look at one's dressing but the purity of the heart and for that reason the dress code for the women of the church should be relaxed is a false teaching.
Pastor Odame was preaching at the Easter Convention organized by the Church on Sunday at Begoro.
He explained that the pastoral letter which started the argument was an advice directed to the leaders of the Church to the effect that, if a female visitor comes to the church, that fellow should not be pressurized into covering her head before being allowed to listen to the gospel and that the directive was for to the congregation.
Pastor Odame said the Church is expected to influence society and not the other way round and therefore urged Christians to lead exemplary lives for others to emulate.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo who was the guest of honour at the function, appealed to the youth to respect the laws of the country.
He said tenders would soon be opened for the tarring of the two kilometre Begoro Township roads while Bososu would soon benefit from a community centre complex with an Information, Communication and Technology(ICT) centre.
The Regional Minister said under a government programme, the Begoro Presbyterian Senior High School is to benefit from the construction of two blocks of two storey buildings to serve as girls and boys dormitories respectively.
He said some selected communities in the Fanteakwa District would also benefit from the Small Town Water System Project in which those communities would access potable water.
Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo said some 200 youths in the District would also be employed under the government reforestation project to plant trees within and outside the forest reserves in the District and appealed to the traditional authorities to provide more land for the project.
Osabarima Awuah Kotoko, Begorohene, appealed to settler farmers in the Fanteakwa community to peacefully co-exist with other members of the community.
He also appealed to the media to report accurately on conflict issues from the district to help maintain the peace in the area.
