A book of condolence has been opened in honour of the late Komla Dumor at his family residence in Accra from where close family members, friends have begun pouring in to sign.
The ace broadcaster died, Saturday, at his residence in London in what BBC reports was through a heart attack.
The family in a statement signed by Esther Cobbah stated: "The Dumor, Gbeho and allied families with deep sorrow announce the passing of our beloved Komla Dumor today in London."
"Komla, as is well known, has been BBC presenter and previously presented the Joy FM Super Morning Show.
"We are lost for words at Komla’s passing. Further information will be provided in due course."
Tributes have begun pouring in with both Presidents John Mahama and John Kufuor all pouring adulations on him.
President Mahama described him as “friend, a brother and a patriot,” "who was a hardworking, dedicated and consummate professional."
Ex-President John Kufuor referred to him as a "bright broadcaster with great promise but who has been cut off midstream.”
The family has been distraught and grief-stricken, Joy News Editor Dzifa Bampoh reported.
A book of condolence has since been opened, Sunday.
According to Dzifa tens of friends and family members have already signed the book, with the number expected to increase later in the day.
Former Head of Marketing at MTN George Andah, Sam Attah Mensah of Citi FM, former CEO of Kotoko, Herbert Mensah, Takyi Micah , and a very strong representation from the Catholic Church were all present to sign the book of condolence.
There is also another book of condolence opened at Joy FM for well wishers and sympathisers.
