Work is progressing steadily on the multi-million-cedi Dr. Hilla Limann Senior High School (SHS) complex being constructed by the government at Gwollu in the Sissala West District of the Upper West Region. Hopefully, the school will admit its first batch of students in September this year to kick start academic activities. Mr. Moses Dramani Luri, Sissala West District Chief Executive (DCE) disclosed this at the Annual General Meeting of the Wa Polytechnic Chapter of the Sissala Students Union in Wa at the weekend. He said the gesture which was unprecedented in the history of the district was in fulfillment of the promise made by President John Evans Atta Mills during his 2008 campaign. The DCE said he had handed over a site for the construction of a district library complex at Gwollu and hoped that the library when constructed would provide a congenial atmosphere to facilitate research and learning. He expressed the optimism that the facility when completed would help improve on the poor performance of students in the Basic School Certificate Examination (BECE).
