The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced that two major categories of allowances expected to be paid this month could not be processed.
This follows what it described as a “technical hitch” during the final payroll run.
In a statement issued on November 25 and signed by Cephas N. Dosco, Head of Public Relations, the department explained that the glitch occurred at a critical stage of payroll processing.
This forced an immediate suspension of those allowances to prevent further delays in the payment of November salaries for all government workers.
According to the release, the decision was taken to ensure that the main November salaries—particularly for workers under the Government of Ghana payroll—were not disrupted.
CAGD assured affected workers, especially those within the education sector who form a significant portion of the beneficiaries, that the issue is being corrected.
The department said the outstanding allowances will now be added to the December 2025 salaries and paid on 18th December 2025.
“We regret the inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciate your patience,” the statement added.
