Voting will soon begin in the Brong Ahafo regional capital Sunyani where thousands of Convention People’s Party (CPP) delegates have gathered to elect new National Executives.
In all, 22 people are contesting for nine national executive positions.
Joy News’ Afreh Kwakye Nuamah has been monitoring the process and reports that about 3000 delegates are expected to vote when polls open.
Saturday’s congress is also expected to be dominated by merger talks between the CPP and the People’s National Convention (PNC).
Ahead of the polls, Prof Edmun Delle is expected to be acclaimed as chairman of the party.
Key Positions
The General Secretary position is expected to be a keen race between former communications director, Nii Armah Akomfrah and Communications director, James Kobina Bomfeh .
Also, the National Youth Organiser position is a battle between Deputy Communications Director of the party, Enersto Yeboah and the Western Regional Youth organiser James Ahiaweh.
