Farmers, especially those in the savanna zone have been advised to create fire belts around their farms.
Acting Gomoa District director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), John Kobena Yamoah who gave the advice at Gomoa said the severe harmattan blowing in the country could result in bushfires if care was not taken.
"The only solution to protecting our farms from getting destroyed is to create fire belts around the farms," he noted.
He further urged communities which used wooden poles for their electrification projects to weed around them poles to protect them from bush fires.
He urged people living at the outskirts to ensure that their surroundings were weeded.
Mr Yamoah appealed to hunters and palm wine tappers, to suspend their activities for the meantime to prevent bushfires.
