The Economic Zones Chamber Ghana Country Office has congratulated Continental Blue Investments (CBI) for unveiling what has been described as the world’s largest calcined clay cement plant within an economic zone, located at the Tema Export Processing Zone in Ghana.
In a press statement issued in Accra, the Chamber described the development as a major milestone in Ghana’s industrialisation agenda, noting that the investment strengthens the country’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing and sustainable infrastructure development.

According to the Chamber, the project demonstrates the transformative potential of economic zones in attracting large-scale investments, creating employment opportunities and accelerating economic growth.

“The Chamber recognises CBI’s bold investment as a testament to the transformative potential of Economic Zones in attracting world-class projects, creating jobs and driving economic growth,” the statement said.
The organisation further indicated that the project highlights the need for a robust policy and legislative framework to maximise the benefits of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Ghana.
As a result, the Chamber has called on the Government of Ghana to expedite the passage of the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Act and its accompanying policy framework.

According to the Chamber, the proposed legislation will provide greater clarity, incentives and regulatory certainty, enabling Ghana to compete more effectively for global investment and innovation.
“A comprehensive SEZ Act will provide clarity, incentives and regulatory certainty, enabling Ghana to compete globally for investment and innovation,” the statement noted.
The Chamber reiterated its commitment to working closely with government, private sector stakeholders and international partners to ensure that Ghana’s economic zones evolve into key drivers of industrial transformation, export growth and sustainable development.
