Cristiano Ronaldo could recover from injury in time to take part in Real Madrid's Champions League quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday evening after all, El Mundo Deportivo reports.
Madrid coach Jose Mourinho told the press last Friday that the Portugal international wouldn't return to match action before the league game against Athletic Bilbao next weekend, due to a hamstring problem. However, the forward has reportedly claimed that he's ready to feature against Spurs, against the advice of los Blancos' club doctors.
Mourinho asked the winger on Sunday whether he would be available for the match at the Santiago Bernabeu, and the former Manchester United star responded by saying that he's ready to take an injection in order to play versus the London club.
Madrid's medical staff are against Mourinho's plans to field Ronaldo on Tuesday evening and they have stated that the attacker's injury could worsen if he takes part in the match, and that he could well miss the rest of the season as a result.
Nevertheless, Mourinho could decide to give Ronaldo the nod on Tuesday as he looks to establish a first-leg lead to take to England.
