David Beckham is "amazed" by the attention his raunchy Emporio Armani adverts have received.
The Los Angeles Galaxy soccer star, who posed on a beach in just his underwear for the campaign, was stunned when he attended the official unveiling of the giant billboard in San Francisco.
In a posting on his official blog, David wrote: "Well I'm sure you've seen the pictures but last week I went to San Francisco to see the unveiling of the new Emporio Armani campaign I shot a while back. To be honest I was
amazed by the huge billboard poster outside Macy's department store, but even more amazed by the amount of people who turned up to see it! I'm always
surprised by the amount of attention certain things create, but the attention this campaign has created is pretty incredible.
"It was great to meet some of the people who'd come out especially though, I've always wanted to visit San Francisco, so it was great to finally get there."
Despite his superstar status, the 33-year-old has revealed he still collects autographs from his sporting heroes.
He said: "The whole experience of wanting someone's autograph is something special, especially when you're a little kid and you have heroes whom you look up to.
"I've been incredibly lucky. I've met so many great people like Muhammad Ali and Michael Jordan, so that's quite a few autographs I've got that I'm proud of."
