David Silva and Sergio Aguero both scored to hand Manchester City a comfortable 2-0 win over Middlesbrough and a place in the FA Cup semi-finals.
Manchester City took an early lead when Silva took advantage of slack defending to stab in Pablo Zabaleta's cross on the right wing.
Middlesbrough recovered from a slack start, but lost Rudy Gestede to a hamstring injury midway through the first half.
City had Zabaleta to thank again for clearing a header off the line when Claudio Bravo flapped.
In the second half, City dominated, with Aguero hitting the post, but were frustrated until Aguero's 24th goal of the season gave them breathing space.
City remain in contention for three trophies with the season approaching its end, but will be happiest there were no injuries to make their Champions and Premier Leagues pursuit any more difficult
