President John Mahama has challenged Ghanaians to unreservedly question his administration on steps taken to better the lives of the people.
While the President is ready to welcome and address concerns of Ghanaians, Deputy Information Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu noted that the President is expecting this to be done in a well-behaved manner.
Addressing the Daily Media briefing at the Presidency, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu said President is satisfied with what he calls the enthusiasm and willingness of Ghanaians to engage leadership of the country towards the developmental agenda of the country.
"Governance is about people. Indeed if you check the NDC manifesto of 2012, we highlighted as one of the pillars upon which we drafted the manifesto and indeed upon which we asked Ghanaians to give us the mandate.
"The issue of transparency, accountability and openness in Government. So, any opportunity for Ghanaians to demand from government these lofty ideals is welcome and indeed, President Mahama believes that such feedback is important in helping refine policy formulation and addressing contemporary issues", he intimated.
He therefore advised Ghanaians to exercise responsibility in dialogues engaged in "as we question government on nagging and pressing issues".
Felix Kwakye Ofosu further noted that some measures are being put in place to get Ghanaians get their concerns to the President.
On the President’s nationwide working tour, the deputy Information minister announced that next week, the President will be in Takoradi, in the Western region, to cut sod for work to begin on expansion work at the Takoradi harbour.
