The Deputy Northern Regional Minister, San Naasamu Asabigi has said calls by a certain youth group for his removal from office are baseless, unmeritorious and should be completely disregarded.
San Naasamu Asabigi said the crusade is being led by some disgruntled youth misdirecting their frustration towards him as a result of the dismissal of the District Chief Executive of Mamprusi.
His comments are in response to claims by a group calling itself the Association of All Mamprusi Youth that the Deputy Minister be relieved of his post for supporting Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings in the NDC flagbearership contest.
They threatened to embark on a ‘violent demonstration’ in 10 days, if President Mills does not relieve the Deputy Minister of his post.
Mr Naasamu Asabigi stated that he has no connection whatsoever with the former First Lady’s pursuit to be flagbearer.
He told Joy News he intends to take action against the group for what he describes as mischief.
