Hearing of the defilement case involving Nana Kofi Yirenkyi aka "Jesus One Touch" who is standing trial at the Accra Circuit Court 5 for allegedly defiling his 10-year-old daughter resumed Monday.
The court presided over by Judge Georgina Mensah-Datse heard from a second doctor, a gynecologist at the Police Hospital, ACP Dr. Samuel Amu Mensah.
According to the doctor, he examined the victim on March 5, 2010, and found that the vulva and other parts of the victim were intact except for the hymen which had a healed tear.
He explained that the tear could be as a result of childhood injury during play or the insertion of objects and irritants by mothers as a form of punishment to the child.
He disagreed with an earlier doctor's submission that 99.9% of broken hymen was a result of sexual intercourse or penetration. He said per his findings, the object used on the child could be no bigger than his little finger.
After the Doctor's submission, the prosecution said it had no more witnesses to be called whiles counsel for the accused submitted that his client had "no case" to answer.
The court adjourned to May 4.
Jesus One Touch is to remain in police custody for further investigations.
After proceedings, accused wept uncontrollably as he was being escorted by a team of policemen while members of his church, Jesus Blood Covenant Ministry located at Oblogo in Accra jubilated and poured powder on each other in apparent conclusion that their leader would be set free.
