Renowned American Boxing promoter Don King has indicated that, Joseph Agbeko should rededicate himself to the sport and look ahead for something better in the near future by becoming a world champion again
Joseph Agbeko failed to reclaim the IBF Bantamweight title he lost to Mexican Abner Mares last August as a unanimous points decision with 118-110 on the cards of all three judges at the Honda centre in Anaheim in California last Sunday denied him win in a much anticipated rematch bout.
Don King in an interview with JOY Sports stated that, Agbeko was disappointing on the night and his performance was not up to standard.
“He was holding back with the punches and he didn’t fight like a typical Ga or an Ashanti man. I love him and i believe he will definitely come back so strong.”Said Don King
In related development, Golden Boy Oscar de la Hoya, who promoted the fight stated that the bout was great and will not call for a third bout.
