New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Dr Bryan Acheampong, has appealed to members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to recommit to the values of unity and discipline as the party works to reposition itself for the future.
In a statement released on Friday, June 13, Dr Acheampong acknowledged growing tensions within the party, which have been reflected in social media exchanges.
He cautioned that while passionate political discourse is natural, internal hostility and division undermine the party’s strength.
“As we prepare to reposition our Party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), we must stay focused on efforts to rebuild and rebrand. Tensions have risen, evident through exchanges on social media. While passionate political discourse is natural, division and hostility only serve to weaken us,” he said.
He called on the leadership of the party to lead efforts to restore hope and cohesion among members.
“What is required of us all, and in particular the leadership of the party, is to ensure that hope is restored through unity of purpose, maturity in conduct, and discipline in our ranks – as we canvass for a renewed energy and commitment to the course.”
Dr. Acheampong urged party members at all levels to stay focused on their common values and shared commitment to the country.
“I urge all party members, from the grassroots to the top leadership, to remember what binds us: our shared values, our love for country, and our belief in a thriving Mother Ghana.”
He concluded by encouraging members to move past internal disagreements and work together to build a stronger party.
