Ghanaian music producer Joseph Appiah also known as Quick Action, performed at British Council in Accra on July 26, 2024 during a workshop organised by African Dyslexia Organisation.
Joseph Appiah, also a Dyslexia Ambassador spoke on dyslexia intervention strategies for teachers and parents.
Other speakers were Ama Serwaa Nerquaye-Tetteh, Secretary General for Ghana Commission for UNESCO and Reverend Johnnie Oquaye, Founder of TAF College.
Programme also had in attendance trainers like Alex Amankwah, Officer in charge of Learning Disabilities, Special Education Division - GES and Dr. Rhaleta Bernard, Reading Specialist, New York City USA, at the Department of Education.
Joseph Appiah who encountered dyslexia during childhood, shared his story after a splendid performance.
According to Joseph, he had difficulty in reading when he was young because he could not identify and write letters of the English alphabet well. He said this went a long way to affect his education.
In spite of this, he focused on his inner ability (music), which later made him one of the most celebrated Ghanaian music producers and sound engineers.

Some of the musicians he has produced over the years are Sarkodie, Samini, Stonebwoy, Blakk Rasta, Afro Moses, Ohemaa Mercy, Cindy Thompson, Tic, Prince Bright, Kwaw Kese, Okomfuor Kwadee, Ben Brako, among others.

Joseph Appiah has been organising programmes to educate people about the disorder.
Over the years, he has been visiting orphanages and schools, engaging children with learning disabilities and finding a way of getting solutions.
His project DYSLEXIA IS NOT DISABILITY was launched on BBC's 'Focus on Africa' last year.
In 2023, he visited the United Kingdom for a cultural exchange programme at the King’s College London.
The programme allowed Joseph to study alongside local students while experiencing a different education system and style of teaching, sharing his expertise and knowledge, and making memories that will last a lifetime.
He also participated in the Art Emergency Workshop meant to enhance his professional expertise in developing talents in Africa and the world.
