Richard Amoako, an electrician, was on Wednesday bonded by the Kade District Magistrate Court to be of good behaviour for six months for assaulting his former girlfriend.
In default, Amoako who pleaded guilty and pleaded with the court that he would not repeat that behaviour, would be sent to prison for three months.
The court ordered that Amoako should pay his victim, Nancy Gyapomaa, GH¢70 as compensation.
This was after the victim's mother had told the court that Amoako had spent GH¢30 on her medical bills and the girl herself had asked the court to drop the matter.
Prosecuting, Police General Sergeant Ambrose Akpablie, said both the complainant and Amoako were resident at Akyem Abaam.
He said on March 06 the victim was in her house when Amoako, an ex-boyfriend, called her on phone to meet her.
She went out to meet him, but when Amoako demanded to follow the victim into her room she refused.
The prosecutor said the victim went to her room to sleep but Amoako followed her into the room.
He said the complainant then pretended that she was going out to buy food and left Amoako alone in the room.
She later decided to go to a friend's house to avoid Amoako but he followed her there accusing her of cheating on him.
The prosecutor said Amoako slapped her in the face and also pushed her to the ground.Source: GNA
