The United Nation’s Development Program is teaming up with some selected eminent women in Ghana and Africa to create a Women’s Situation Room (WSR) to coordinate and resolve electoral violence during the election period.
The Women’s Situation Room is currently recruiting young women to spearhead information gathering at the various flashpoints across the country.
On the day of voting through the counting of ballots and the declaration of election results, nine selected eminent women will man the WSR and link up with security agencies, the Electoral Commission (EC) and the hierarchy of the political parties to coordinate and resolve electoral conflicts on the ground.
Founder of the WSR, Chancellor Chesson-Wureh tells Luv News the initiative has helped in resolving electoral violence and promoting peace in Liberia and other African countries.

Speaking at an orientation ceremony organized for recruits for the programme in Kumasi, Chancellor Chesson said their research on the ground creates cause for concern.
