The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, is currently at the West African Pipeline Company (WAPCo) station in Tema following mounting pressure to restore stable electricity supply amidst ongoing power challenges in the country.
The minister is inspecting ongoing maintenance work on the shutdown of the pipelines, which is approximately 70% complete.
Engineers are working against time to ensure the swift completion of the repairs and the full restoration of gas supply.

The erratic power situation has caused significant concern among citizens and businesses, prompting urgent government intervention.
Authorities have assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to stabilise the energy sector and prevent prolonged disruptions.
Mr Jinapor has attributed the current difficulties to an energy sector burdened with challenges inherited by his government.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM on Thursday, February 20, he reiterated the administration’s commitment to implementing long-term solutions to improve power generation and supply across the country.
“We inherited a very weak energy sector. Ghanaians should bear with us as we work to fix the problems permanently,” he stated.
Mr Jinaor further assured citizens that the ongoing power disruptions would soon be resolved.
“The current erratic supply situation should be stable in two weeks’ time,” he added, expressing confidence in the government’s intervention strategies.
