The examination scripts of over 200 students in the Sociology Department of the University of Ghana, Legon, have gone missing just days before results are to be released. The scripts were said to have been mixed up with other papers by invigilators at the time of collection but after further investigations, the papers can still not be traced. The Sociology Department has asked the affected students to re-take the paper or settle for a pass mark, however the students are not amused. President of the Sociology Students Association at the University, Emmanuel Fiagbenu, told Joy News “it takes a lot of effort to study and write an exam, more so when the exam is difficult.” Most of the students, he said, are not ready to re-take the paper. Acting Director of Academic Affairs, Enoch Amartey said the Academic Board has instituted an investigation into the matter and is yet to take a decision.
