Asante Kotoko have extended their winless run in 2026 to three matches after another goalless draw with Bibiani GoldStars in the Ghana Premier League.
After losing to Swedru All Blacks and drawing goalless with Berekum Chelsea, it was imperative for the Porcupines to secure victory and get their title chase back on track.
However, the draw is a blow to their chances, as they are now eight points adrift of league leaders Medeama, who defeated Vision FC in Saturday’s other fixture.
Kotoko tried to avoid the stalemate by creating chances but were denied by the hosts’ goalkeeper, Emmanuel Kobi, who made several crucial saves.
Among them was a fine leg save to deny Morifing Donzo in the first half before, in the second, tipping over new signing Dogo Yakubu’s looping effort to keep the scoreline level.
Kotoko still sit third on 32 points and will hope to pick up their first win of the year in their next outing against Basake Holy Stars.
Meanwhile, the result leaves GoldStars in second on 33 points ahead of their next encounter against Berekum Chelsea.
