President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, says the sport body is always open to valuable contributions and would not turn a blind eye to issues. The GFA has been tasked by the Vice President John Mahama to provide a comprehensive report to help improve the Black Stars following their participation at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. Kwesi Nyantakyi explained during a meeting with the Vice President that the input of all stakeholders will be welcomed as the sport charts a brighter future. “We owe Ghanaians an explanation, and hopefully the report will be ready after which, we shall forward it to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for onward transmission,” the GFA President said. “At the end of the day, we would also be blessed with the rare opportunity of having the wise counsel and advice of the Vice President as we complete the report. “We believe with this kind of initiative which involves all major stakeholders, we will be able to chart a way that will advance the common interest of all of us.” Ghana, tipped as favourites prior to the start of the competition hosted by Gabon-Equatorial Guinea, finished fourth but are now looking forward to the next competition. “At the of the end of the day, football will be the ultimate beneficiary and from this meeting it should be possible for us to win the next Africa Cup of Nations which is not too far away in January next year [2013]. “We hope that we would be able to appease Ghanaians for the loss opportunity that occurred in Gabon-Equatorial Guinea,” Kwesi Nyantakyi said. The GFA is holding a press conference where the Executive Committee and Black Stars and coach Goran Stevanovic are speaking to the media over Ghana's participation at the 2012 Nations Cup.
