Ghanaian-born UK-based afrobeat sensation Fuse ODG has been adjudged the Best African Act at the 2013 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards.
The 'Antenna' hit singer, born Nana Richard Abiona, beat some of Africa's biggest acts to win the coveted award at the event which came off at The SSE Hydro, Glasgow, Scotland Saturday night.
Fuse ODG beat fellow Ghanaian artiste Atumpan, Bombino (Niger), Ice Prince (Nigeria), Liquideep (South Africa), Mafikizolo (South Africa), Seun Kuti (Nigeria), Spoek Mathambo (South Africa), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), and WizKid (Nigeria).
Apart from winning the award, he also gave off an impressive performance on the night.
"Wow WE REALLY GOT ONE! Thank you all for your amazing support & LOVE to my manager and best friend @MrHackett1 . The vision is in progress #TINA," Fuse tweeted after picking up the award.
Big winners on the night were singer Laura Mvula and Naughty Boy (Shahid Khan). They both took home two awards each.
Mvula won 'Best Female' and 'Best RnB/Soul Act' while Naughty Boy won 'Best Song' and 'Best Video' with his hit song 'La La La'.
