The Ga Traditional Council has condemned the forceful takeover of the Ga Stool by Nii Tackie Adama Latse II.
A statement issued and signed by the Otublohum Mantse, Nii Okaija III described the installation and outdooring of the New Ga Chief as a “rape of the Ga Stool House".
Nii Adama Latse II privately known as George Tackie, who hails from the Abola Piam We was on Sunday installed by some king makers as the Ga Mantse.
He was on Monday outdoored as Ga Mantse after a bloodless takeover of the Ga Mantse Palace.
During the outdooring ceremony, the Dzaasetse Nii Amarkai III purported to be the King Maker of the Gas in a symbolic display, lifted the hands of Nii Tackie Adama Latse II, describing him as the legitimate heir of the throne.
He also pronounced the destoolment of some chiefs including the Sempe Mantse who he accused of embezzling some funds belonging to the Ga State.
But the Ga Traditional Council made up of chiefs in the Ga State has condemned the installation and subsequent takeover of the Ga Mantse Palace
The statement further renewed the Ga Traditional Council’s allegiance to Nii Tackie Tawiah III.
But Counsel for the newly installed Chief, Nii Armah Josiah Ayerh said the Traditional Council risk losing its credibility with statements like this.
He said Nii Tackie Adama Latse II is the rightful heir to the Ga throne and must be respected as such.
Meanwhile, the President of the National House of Chiefs has called for calm within the Ga State.
Speaking to Joy News on Monday, Naa Prof John Nabila advised the warring factions to make use of the Regional House of Chiefs to resolve the impasse
