The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Tawiah III has emphasized the need for the Ga people at home and elsewhere to study their traditions and culture and preserve it truthfully for generations to come.
He gave this advice at the launch of the King Tackie Tawiah Foundation in London, the United Kingdom. The King Tackie Tawiah III Foundation, established three years ago, was the initiative of the Ga Mantse King Tickie Tawiah III.
Its purpose is to generate funds and manage it for various educational and development projects within the Ga State.
The ceremony attracted a large community of Ga indigenes residing in the United Kingdom, as well as representatives of other Ghanaian communities including that of the Akan and the Nigerian community in the United Kingdom.
Speaking at the launch, King Tackie Tawiah emphasised the need for the Ga people to not only study their traditions and culture, but to practice and preserve it truthfully.
He also advised the Ga people to educate the youth about their culture and traditions, especially the Ga language for generations to come.
Other speakers at the function also called on the Ga people to put aside their political preferences and unite for the upliftment of the Ga state.
The launch of the King Tackie Tawiah III Foundation was graced by some members of the Ga Traditional Council including the Otublohm Mantse Nii Dodoo Nsaki, the Gbese Mantse Nii Okaija III, the Nungua Mantse, King Odaifio Welentsi, the Akanmajei Mantse Nii Ayikai III.
